A diverse roster of artists headline the Irvine Fine Arts Center's 13th annual Studio Arts Festival on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 100 local and national artisans bring their combined perspectives, skills and more than 1,000 original works of art - including ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, painting, photography, textiles, glass and gourd art.

The City of
Irvine
is accepting applications for appointive positions to the Green Ribbon Environmental Committee. This is an advisory committee which will consist of 7 voting members; appointed members will be charged with making recommendations to the City Council on matters related to climate protection, energy, recycling and waste management, sustainability, transportation and water issues.

Effective July 1, 2008, the legislation prohibits drivers from using a wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle unless the driver uses a hands-free device. Drivers who violate the law will face a base fine of $20 for a first offense and $50 for each subsequent offense.
